What’s needed for IoT to become the next Big Thing?

Internet, since its inception, has remained one of the greatest inventions by mankind and has certainly been a big thing for last several decades. The concept of interconnected network of computers followed by perennial digitization of data and communication has undoubtedly transformed the way we live, work and relate to each other. As the internet continues to evolve beyond imagination, ironically we do not see a saturation but believe that its true power is yet to be unleashed giving rise to lot more avenues for its application – the contemporary buzz being Internet of Things (IoT). Primarily focusing on connectivity of devices or things, IoT continues to revolutionize the modern world with disruptive innovations aiming at building a smarter and safer world. Although the thought of having devices to talk to each other resulting in actionable insights is extremely scintillating, this might be just easier said than done. While technologists and scientists have implanted the belief that IoT is the norm to achieving consumer and enterprise wide connected solutions, there is an increasing challenge of realizing this solution due to its exorbitant cost and limited time, thus leaving IoT as merely a research asset today.

IoT deployment solutions that currently exist involve specific application development to enable devices to be well connected, that comes along with a rising cost of building and maintaining the development effort both in terms of time and money. This calls for businesses to make huge capital investments and endless patience to deploy even the tiniest IoT based solution – clearly not much sought after challenge. So what is really needed for IoT to become the next Big Thing? There is an immense need to focus on IoT beyond just connectivity. We keenly want multiple things (devices/endpoints) to be well connected through enabling interactions between them but at the same time not get stuck in the maze of high cost and time consuming device specific software development needed to enable these interactions. Hence the real need is to have a quick, simple and cost effective way of enabling interactions between various things to build out IoT solutions that are robust and scalable without spending hours writing code for the same – challenging problem indeed yet exciting!

At Pulzze, the founders thought about it seriously and built the INTERACTOR for businesses to transform their dream of realizing true IoT based solutions to consumable reality. Interactor is for interactions as router is for connectivity. Interactor abstracts implementation logic out of the devices and enables interactions between multiple addresses (things/devices/endpoints) be completely configured, thus eliminating the need for any kind of software development to integrate solutions. Adopting the Interactor approach allows for businesses to reduce cost at various levels – development and integration cost, and the operational expenditures to support and maintain the invested effort. Additionally, since all integrations are via configuration, IoT solutions can be deployed and rolled out at a much faster pace, thus promptly catering to critical business needs.

Internet of Things is undeniably a key accelerator to digital transformation of everything we see, hear, speak and touch. In order to fill the knowing-doing gap of its complete potential, it is imperative for emerging technologies to innovatively address the hindering cost and time complexity and make IoT a genuine go-to solution. Interactor is designed with this mission to build your smart solution with increased speed, reduced cost and higher productivity – all of which are key to make IoT the next Big Thing!
